Nice place to stay. Clean and comfortable. Easy to find easy to park, just all around good. Good restaurants close by too.

From my initial contact with Chris the owner, we knew we found a great place. When we pulled in the property was beautifully maintained. Chris was welcoming and so sweet. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely renovated. We enjoyed sitting outside on the comfy clean chairs after a long day of riding. Thank you Chris! We’ll definitely be back!!

My husband had tried to reserve a room at the beginning of the month for the Dairyland show down at Mississippi Thunder Speedway. Chris told him the rooms were sold out but if there was a cancelation she would call him. We live in Houston, TX so if we had a chance to make it we needed to leave Wednesday. She called him Wednesday morning 6:30AM they had a cancelation. We told her yes we would be there. We made the 1250 mile drive and got there Thursday afternoon. When I walked in the office she had everything ready for our check in. It was very clean and cozy. We will Definitely be staying here again.

We had a great time!! Some family booked the Vineyard and had a relaxing evening, my sister and I stayed in the Jungle and had a fun time. Lots of laughing, giggles and snorts enjoying the jungle decor. It was like having live hyenas in the room!

Anytime we come to Fountain City this is our favorite place to stay. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the bathroom has top quality shampoo, conditioner, soap and make up remover. I would say that the owner buys local and supports her community. The rooms are immaculate. I have never been to an upscale hotel that even comes close to the cleanliness of these rooms. I highly recommend I love this place!!

We have often enjoyed the hospitality and accommodations at the Fountain Motel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The owners are pleasant and helpful. Location is easily accessible on the main road.

This is a really nice roadside motel. I thought it was right on the Mississippi River, it's not, but it is very close. This motel was clean, well maintained, the owner was very nice, the showers had good pressure and the beds were comfy. There are some great restaurants right in town and the drive is absolutely beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

We stay at Fountain Motel several times a year. It has become our home away from home when we need to escape the city. It’s always spotless and the owners work hard to keep everything top notch. We would rate 5+ if we could.

Wonderful place to rest with neat theme rooms. Stayed in the Lodge room for the weekend and it was great. Room was cozy, had cute decor and bed was comfortable. Room was clean and we were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was. Motel had all the necessary amenities in working order. Outdoor seating was a plus watching the sunset. Friendly staff & service too. We plan on visiting again next summer. Would recommend to anyone.

A delightful small family run motel. Location was excellent, check in and check out was excellent and the room was absolutely perfect. It was spotless, well stocked, bed was comfortable and the room decor was so pleasant. Absolutely, nothing I would change! Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

I'm a member of the American legion Riders from Glenville MN, About 10 of us took a trip to Fountain city Wisconsin and stayed in The Fountain City Hotel.The owner was amazing she even found a way to get rooms for late reservations with ease,and to top it off the rooms are themed so each room is different,it's clean comfortable and quiet with a warm and friendly atmosphere. I would recommend this motel above all in the area

What more can I say? The place has ample parking and the owners are fantastic! The rooms are clean and were cleaned every day to include new towels and everything else. I would highly recommend the fountain motel and I will absolutely be staying here the next time that I am in the area.

We were on a bike trip wonderful area for riding the motel was wonderful comfortable clean outdoor furniture was so comfortable especially after being on bike all day the owners are amazing friendly always willing to help with any thing if needed just a all around wonderful place will absolutely stay again !!!!!

Hidden gem. We have a yearly golf outing and stayed at the Fountain City Motel for over 18 years and always have had a great experience. Update, 6/2025, I've stayed here every year for 20+ years for a golf outing weekend and the motel is ALWAYS been a great experience. - The rooms are very clean - The owners are very friendly - The mattresses are new and comfortable - I wish all motels/hotels were as good as the Fountain Motel Highly recommend stay here.

Amazing place to stay while in the area. Me and the team travel frequently and we were all overwhelming impressed by the cleanliness and friendly folks. Hands down this place is way better than any big name hotel. Beds are way more comfortable too. Chris thank you again so much for the hospitality. Will def be staying only here when we get back to the area.

Great Stay! Themed rooms. Very Clean. We were greeted in the parking lot with keys and instructions. I felt like a kid, traveling with my parents. Great experience.

What a good choice this was for us -- easy access to our car, roomy, fun theme decor, quality updates including bathroom, and more. A quiet, rural setting about 10-15 minute drive to Winona, MN. Would definitely stay here again.

Fountain City Motel is a fantastic small town motel with exceptional clean & comfortable modern rooms. My wife & I love staying at the Fountain City Motel. Each room is decorated with a theme as Fishing room, Bear room, Deer room & so on. Plenty of parking, outlets for boat charging, well lit with security cameras. If you are planning your day or days in Fountain City, Winona, Alma, Trempealeau or somewhere near the river & FountainCity, this is the place to stay. Christie & Travis will see to it that you have a comfortable & rewarding visit. Great place, we Love staying there.

This is my favorite overall vacation place in Wisconsin. All rooms are tastefully decorated you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend.

This is a great motorcycle motel to stay at and explore the Driftless Areas. You can park the bike at your door. Comfortable chairs outside your room to enjoy the evening and the morning for coffee. The room was clean and had a nice recliner.

This place is the best!Me and a group of us ride to fountain city once a year and we stay here! The place is always clean and Chris is always so accommodating.We love staying here.I highly recommend this place to stay if you are in fountain city.thank you Chis for another wonderful time !

Incredible place to stay. Super convenient to get to any landings/marinas for fishing. Great accomodations for fisherman...charging/security for boats. We will be back!

The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, within driving distance of many places. The themed room also makes it interesting and fun, I stayed in the American themed room. Will plan on staying here again!

Nice spot a short ride out of Winona. Priced right. Each room is themed ( I got the cabin themed room with a king sized bed). I did not see much of the town since it was a rain day that I was there. I plan to visit again, hopefully this summer, definitely next warm season!

When we called with questions, Chris was very helpful. The motel was easy to find, after a concert and visiting with our student at SMU in Winona. The room was clean and amenities were lovely. We slept well. Thank you, Fountain Motel!

What a lovely little gem of a motel! We were traveling through the area and found the Fountain City Motel online. I did call to make my reservation, and Chris was super nice on the phone. Upon arrival, we found our Angler's Retreat room to have a fishing theme, which was terrific. Clean room, comfy recliner, top-notch choice of soaps, fluffy towels, AND a discount because it was my birthday! Not sure I want everyone else to know how exceptional this place is because we want it all to ourselves. : ) We will absolutely return for another stay, maybe in the summer so we can enjoy relaxing outside in those great porch chairs. Looks like Fountain City has places to explore and enjoy. Definitely earned 5+ stars.

This motel is a MUST if you're in the area! The area felt so safe, it's extremely quiet, affordable, & very cutely decorated. The parking lot was lit to the max & had cameras so that made me feel at peace. The host responds quickly & makes reservations/checking in easy as can be. Only complaint (which isn't a big deal or a deal-breaker) the wifi wasn't the best in our room (Room 106). Paid $110.00 after tax for 1 night on 12/30/24.

Loved the decor (Beach Room). Very clean and conveniently located. Staff is friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Great hotel, nice sized and very clean rooms, and nice people

I don’t normally write reviews, but this business stands out in about every way. This is a classic motel beautifully and modestly modernized. The grounds are very well-maintained with an expansive lawn and new pavement. In town for a car event, I was able to pull right up to my door, where there were chairs and a table. The person at the office was friendly, noted that everything was taken care of online and handed me the room key. The room was carefully decorated, cozy and perfectly clean. The mattress was excellent. Watched the Twins lose and got a great nights sleep. I highly recommend this place.

Very clean and far enough away from the train's that I had a good night's sleep.
